“Indifference sustains violence” – republican contests for pupils
Pupils of the 3rd- 12th grades can participate in two republican contests under the title “Indifference sustains violence,” Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Ministry of Education and Youth.
The contests, based on creation in literature, painting and other forms of graphics, have the purpose to develop the personal reflection of children and youth on the risk of tolerating different forms of violence.
The pupils of the 5th -12th grades are invited to take part in the literary creation contest. The participants will have to write an essay, a poem or a novel on a certain topic. The works will be personal, original creations, which will reflect the author’s point of view on violence issues.
The contest may be attended by pupils of the 3rd -12th grades. They will make drawings (watercolor, pencil etc.), collages, posters, computer graphics on the topic “Indifference sustains violence”.
The printed works may be sent to the Education Ministry, or e-mailed to eparlicov@gmail.com. The deadline is November 23.
Members of the jury will be representatives of the educational, social protection, medical institutions and NGO experts. The best works will be awarded diplomas and presents. The authors will receive participation diplomas.
The contests are organized by the Ministry of Education and Youth and the “Gender – Centru,” supported by the United Nations Fund for Women (UNIFEM). The action is part of the International Campaign “16 days of activism against sex-related violence,” that is annually unfolding from November 25 to December 10.
