Index of Economic Freedom goes up, while government integrity declines

Moldova has an Index of Economic Freedom of 58, taking the 110th spot in the world rankings compiled by The Heritage Foundation. Compared with the rankings for 2016, Moldova moved up 0.6 points, IPN reports, quoting heritage.org

The Index of Economic Freedom measures economic freedom based on trade freedom, business freedom, government integrity, investment freedom, property rights, etc.

Trade freedom in Moldova went up from 73.6 in 2016 to 80 this year, while the score for government integrity in 2017 is 28.6, down from 35 in 2016.

Based on the total results, Moldova was ranked as a state that is mainly non-free.

The Heritage is a center of experts and researchers who promote conservative public policies.
