Independents candidates 'driven by overconfidence'
Political analyst Arcadie Barbarosie considers political overconfidence is to blame for the big number of independent candidates in elections, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Hypothetically, the Parliament could be formed of a few men, if no party passes the election threshold, Barbarosie has mentioned.
20 independent candidates applied to participate in the parliamentary elections on November 28. The Central Electoral Commission has registered 7 of them and is examining the other bids.
Another analyst, Corneliu Ciurea, has explained the independents are encouraged by the low election threshold. Some of them are indeed serious contenders, but others are amateurs who are trying their luck.
The election threshold for independent candidates is 2%.
