The elections are an expensive pleasure and it is highly improbable that someone will manage to enter Parliament as an independent MP, without a team behind, journalist Valerii Demidetski was quoted by IPN as saying.
“I don’t believe in independent candidates. To my mind, the independent candidates are that possibility of forming interesting alliances in the future Parliament,” the journalist stated in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel.
According to him, the current government does its best to remain in power. He referred also to the obligation for all the potential candidates in the parliamentary elections of this February to obtain integrity certificates. The Democratic Party could face very serious consequences if it loses power.
Socialist MP Bogdan Țîrdea noted the independent candidates the day after elections will form an alliance with the Democrats. Independent candidates cannot exist now as they are all dependent on the power. “Each citizen should understand that when voting for a party that does not have a rating to enter Parliament and for independents, they vote for the Democratic Party, which is for keeping the current power,” he stated.
As to the integrity certificates, Bogdan Țîrdea said such documents were also received by convicted persons. “On October 4, 2018, when Andrian Candu was asked why this integrity certificate is needed, he said this is needed to prevent such persons as Ilan Shor from entering the next Parliament. In January, Mister Ilan Shor was issued with such a certificate,” he noted.
The parliamentary elections will be held on February 24, 2019.
