Increased security measures during visit paid by President of Turkey

Parts of streets in Chisinau will be closed to traffic and the parking of units of transport will be banned on October 17 in connection with the visit that will be made by the President of Turkey Recep Erdogan, IPN reports.

Livii Baziuc, chief of the National Patrolling Inspectorate, in a press briefing said the streets Dacia, Ștefan cel Mare, Pushkin, Vlaicu Pârcălab and Sergey Lazo will be partially inaccessible to traffic. The public transport will be diverted from Ștefan cel Mare Blvd to București St. The parking of cars in the perimeter of the streets Vlaicu Pârcălab, 31 august, Sfatul Țării and Columna will not be allowed. While the official convoy will be moving, the gas stations will not work.

Marin Maxian, head of the General Police Inspectorate’s General Public Security Division, said the given measures are taken by all the states that receive visits from officials who benefit from guard. “We call on the citizens not to go out on open balconies, roofs when they see the police in action while the official convoy will be moving,” he stated.

The restrictions to reach particular places will be temporary. The people who live in the restricted area could enter based on special permits. Asked about the protest that is to be mounted by the National Resistance Movement ACUM at the Embassy of Turkey at midday, Marin Maxian said the police will intervene depending on the developments.
