Increased demand at mobile medical care units

About 7,400 residents and guests of Chisinau last week used the services of the 16 mobile medical care units working in the capital city during the hot period, Health Division head Mihai Moldovanu said Monday, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to Moldovanu, the number of persons who need medical assistance in the street is on the rise. The people ask to be measured the blood pressure because they feel giddy. Most of them are elderly persons and persons suffering from cardiovascular diseases. The mobile units in the latest hot period offered assistance to 77 children and 50 pregnant women. All the 16 mobile medical care units provide drinking water and medications. They work between 8am and 5pm, Modovanu said. He instructed the district heads to supply the mobile posts in every district with drinking water because the demand is outstripping the supply. Mihai Moldovanu recommended avoiding the baking sun between 11am and 4pm, when the radiation is 7-8 points of maximum 11, wearing bright, loose clothes and drinking at least two liters of water a day. Twenty-five persons had been taken to hospital last week from the mobile medical care units. Two of them suffered sunstroke.
