Increase in tariffs for water and heat receives approval from three municipal commissions
On Wednesday, January 24, the Commission for communal administration and ecology of the Chisinau Municipal Council approved the draft decisions regarding the increase in tariffs for the water supply and sewage services, and also the cost of one G-calorie. “Apa Canal Chisinau” JSC (ACC) and “Termocom” JSC had proposed the same draft decisions that were later excluded from the agenda of the Municipal Council’s sitting at the proposal of the Communist Party, for the reason that they needed to be re-examined.
According to the draft decision, the price of 1 cu m of water and 1 of waste water, requested by Chisinau’s water supplier “Apa-Canal” (ACC), is of 6.5 lei for individuals, 16.26 lei for economic entities, state budget-funded institutions and businesspersons, and 8.64 lei for consumers of industrial water.
The Commission’s head Mihai Severovan stated that the 11 categories of citizens that benefit at present from nominative compensations will not be affected by the increase in tariffs.
The Commission for communal administration and ecology has approved the draft decision regarding the increase in the price of one G-calorie from 233 lei to 540. According to the draft decision, individuals will pay 233 lei as before. The difference of 307.82 will be covered by the municipal budget. The General Finance Division does not agree with this provision included in the draft decision for the reason that financial resources in this respect were not anticipated in the municipal budget for the current year. The Commission suggested requesting Government assistance for half of the expenses.
Also on Wednesday, the Legal Commission has re-examined the draft decision on increase in the price of one G-Calorie and approved it.
Thus, the three CMC commissions – the Commission for budget, economy, finance and local public patrimony, Commission for communal administration and ecology and the Legal Commission approved the two draft decisions.
The items regarding the increase in the tariffs for water and sewage, as well as the cost of one G-calorie, are included in the agenda of CMC sitting that will be held on Thursday, January 25.
