Income tax deducted in surplus will be refunded to private individuals

The taxpayers-private individuals submitted applications to the local subdivisions of the State Tax Service, asking to be paid back 17 million lei, which is the tax deducted from the incomes earned in 2011 in surplus, the deputy head of the State Main Tax Inspectorate Gheorghe Cojocaru said in a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The money will be refunded when all the income stamens for the previous year are processed. The process is usually closed at the end of June or the start of July.
A sum of 19 million lei was paid back to private individuals last year for 2010. When the state refunds the money with delay, the recipients get compensations.
The income tax paid in surplus can be refunded within six years of the payment date. If the taxpayer didn’t ask for a refund in the period, the money is used by the local public authorities to finance different needs.
