The leader of the Communists Party (PCRM) Vladimir Voronin said that he does not intend to keep the post of departing head of state as he wants to become MP so as to win a new victory. When the party faces critical moments, Voronin prefers to be near the PCRMʾs parliamentary group and work as MP. The statement was made at the end of the meeting of the partyʾs national political staff on September 2. “I have neither ethical not political reasons to formally hold this post (departing head of state – e.n.). I cannot accept the way in which they want to govern the country. Therefore, I chose to be MP so as to be near the PCRMʾs parliamentary group,” Voronin said, stressing that it is a fair decision. The PCRMʾs leader said that he was asked by his party to do this as it needs now greater organizational and political cohesion. “Only this way, will we mobilize our party that has over 30,000 members and win a new victory so as to restore Moldovaʾs image and the peopleʾs hope for a better future,” Voronin said.
