The square of the National Palace turned into a dream city on Friday in the evening, built ... from people. Young volunteers represented improvised buildings from Chisinau. The action was an idea of two young artists: Ion Fisticanu, a student at Prometeu-Prim high school and Tonka Malekovic from Croatia, Info-Prim Neo reports. The fountain near the National Palace became an architectural composition formed from people stiffened in different positions. Similar ideas were implemented in several cities from Europa. The CHIOSC project is a cultural action and a floor for public participation, pursuing to promote contemporary art and culture to youth. “We want to demonstrate that, if they want, the youths can make everything, even to build a city with surrounding objects or people. You just need imagination and will,” says Tonka Malekovic. “Through such drives we want to encourage the active participation of different people, working in different areas,” the Croatian artist added. The CHIOSC project is carried out with the support of the European Cultural Foundation, the Culture Direction of Chisinau, the district offices of Centru and Buiucani districts, the French Alliance to Moldova, the Romanian Cultural Institute, the Latin Union, etc.
