Import restrictions on refrigerated meat lifted
The executive lifted the restrictions on the import of refrigerated meat imposed by a Government Decision of August 2006, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Minister of Economy and Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Lazar, the given Decision did not specify the technical and temperature parameters for refrigerated meat and this generated confusion. The different interpretation of the Decision caused problems to the importers.
The amendments approved by the Government say that the temperature regime of +/ – 4 degrees and the notion of refrigerated meat is similar to the notion of fresh meat.
