Immunization Week to be held until Oct.31

Vaccination sites are being opened inside shopping malls and in the parking lots of supermarket chains in various parts of Moldova. The effort is part of the Immunization Week, which will run until October 31, and is a partnership among the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization, UNICEF Moldova, the World Bank and other partners. Those interested can get a vaccine without a prior appointment and only with the identity card.

During this period, several activities will be held to intensify the vaccination process against COVID-19 and to inform the population about the benefits of vaccines, the National Agency for Public Health said in a press release.

During October 25-31, the Municipal Vaccination Center in Chisinau on 18 Petru Rareș Street will work longer hours, opening at 08:00 and closing at 20:30.

“The Immunization Week aims to bring to the fore all the messages of epidemiologists and health authorities about the importance of getting vaccinated in order to stop the pandemic. We urge everyone who has not yet been able to do so to benefit from the vaccine. Protect yourself and your loved ones, put your hand to raising the rate of vaccination so that we all can live a healthy life without COVID-19”, says Ministry of Health secretary Svetlana Nicolaescu.

“Vaccination against COVID-19 protects you from the serious forms and death caused by COVID-19. Contact your family doctor or go to any vaccination site, without an appointment, just with your ID card. Only together can we stop the pandemic!”, is the message of the health authorities.

Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, 853,658 Moldovans have been fully vaccinated.
