The immunization campaign at the National Army begins on March 3 with the vaccination of the staff of the Central Military Clinical Hospital of Chisinau, who are treating patients with COVID-19, IPN reports.
According to the head of the Military Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Victor Pîrțînă, 140 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines were transmitted by the National Public Health Agency.
Under the order signed by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the employees of the public order, defense and state security institutions will be vaccinated at the second stage of the immunization campaign.
The 21,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines were donated by Romania. The AstraZeneca vaccine is 63-90% efficient, the administration interval being of 4-12 weeks. The vaccine so far has been approved in over 50 countries, including the Republic of Moldova.
