Immigration quota for 2010 set at 1,300
The Government decided that the officially allowed number of economic migrants in 2010 will be 1,300, Info–Prim Neo reports.
Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said it was a reasonable figure if taking into account that 43,274 persons applied for the available 1,948 jobs at employment offices.
The managers of companies that made investments larger than US10,000, sportspersons and trainers, commuter workers and seasonal workers are allowed to go abroad to work outside the immigration quota.
Last year, the immigration quota was 575, including 55 for persons working in the field of sport and 30 for managers of companies with investments larger than US10,000.
