Illicitly printed electoral materials of the candidate running for Mayor on behalf of the Liberal Party were found at a printing house. The materials were printed, according the Press Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with breaches of legislation, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the cited source, the Ministry started in the course of the election campaign an inspection concerning the use of financial means by political parties and its candidates. The officers of the Department for the Investigation of Frauds of MIA found 1,600 posters picturing the candidate of the Liberal Party for mayor at one of the private printing houses in Chisinau - “Grafic Design”, located on Brancusi Street 148. The printing house had no contract for providing printing services or other necessary financial documents and its director tried to bribe the investigation officer at the headquarters of Botanica District Police Office with USD 500. As a consequence, he was charged with “active corruption”. At present, police officers conduct similar inspections at other printing offices.
