Illegal double glazing business dismantled
The Service of Security and Information (SIS) and the Anticorruption Center (CCCEC) said they discovered an illegal network dealing in the double glazing business, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to SIS, the sales of one outlet alone in the last month exceeded 3 million lei.
The company was producing double glazed windows and doors in large amounts and was selling them under well-known trademarks, without having any authorization from the owners of those trademarks or a license to practice such a business. When requested by the investigators, the representatives of the company were even unable to produce certificates of origin for the materials used in manufacturing the double glazed windows. Nor they presented any document that would confirm the safety of their production.
Following further investigations, SIS officers discovered the company to have been involved in smuggling counterfeit goods into Moldova, and other dubious affairs.
Investigations into the affairs of this network are continuing.
