Ilan Șor was stripped of the salary of MP. The head of the Parliament’s Mass Media Division Svetlana Rudenco said the order was signed by Speaker Igor Grosu, IPN reports.
Ilan Shor was also stripped of pays and compensations in the previous legislature, as from January 1, 2020. Earlier, the MP was punished for 26 absences since June until December 2019, in accordance with the Parliament’s Regulations.
Under the Parliament’s Regulations, such a decision is taken when the MP is groundlessly absent from the plenary sittings, does not take part in the meetings of the standing commissions or other activities related to the legislative process and in parliamentary delegations. The Parliament’s Secretariat furnishes the legal commission for appointments and immunities with relevant data and this proposes that the Speaker should make an order to suspend the payment of the salary, allowances and compensations. This happened to MP Ilan Shor in 2020 and now.
