Ilan Shor, the president of the Shor Party, who runs in the parliamentary elections of February 24, said the municipality of Chisinau is in the process of continuous degradation and looks more like a province, not like a capital city and the party he represents has a plan for reanimating the city, IPN reports.
In a news conference, Ilan Shor presented a film showing how a modern city should look like. He said that after the Shor Party wins the elections, this will suggest a bill that would offer the MPs elected in single-member constituencies the right of veto in relation to the decisions of the local public administration for more efficient control all over the country, especially in Chisinau.
Also, Ilan Shor intends to reorganize the municipality of Chisinau so that this has the status of district. The leader of the Shor Party also said he will insist that the taxes collected in Chisinau should remain in the capital city so as to be invested in infrastructure and social projects.
If the Shor Party wins the elections in the constituencies of Chisinau, the party pledges to build the latest recreation park in the region – “MoldovaLand” – during 18 months. This will be constructed with Chisinau budget funds and access to this will be free for townspeople.
