The Buiucani Court issued a warrant for placing businessman Ilan Shor under house arrest for 30 days. Shor is investigated as a suspect within two criminal cases, over the provision of bad loans by Banca de Economii and abuse of power by members of the Administration Board of Banca Sociala, IPN reports.
Head of the National Anticorruption Center’s Prosecution Division Bogdan Zumbreanu said the prosecutors asked issuing an arrest warrant against Shor for 30 days, but the court decided that the businessman will be placed under house arrest.
Zumbreanu also said that it is a necessary preventive measure that includes certain restrictions. Ilan Shor cannot leave his home, cannot communicate with particular persons and is obliged to answer the phone calls made by the anticorruption officers. Any violation leads to the modification of this preventive measure.
Prosecutor Adriana Betisor said more persons are to be arrested.
