Businessman Ilan Shor announced that he enters the electoral race for the post of mayor of Orhei town. On May 21, Shor was officially registered as a contender on behalf of the Party “Ravnopravie”. The decision was taken by the Orhei District Electoral Council, PIN reports.

Also today, the businessman was escorted to the National Anticorruption Center, where he stayed for over an hour. The Center’s press officer Angela Starinschi said Ilan Shor was additionally questioned in the case of Banca de Economii.

On May 18, the Chisinau Appeals Court rejected the prosecutor’s request to remand the businessman in custody from house arrest, upholding thus the May 6 decision of the Buiucani Court by which Shor was placed under house arrest for 30 days.
