MP of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Igor Munteanu said the “Action and Solidarity” Party’s decision to support a Socialist candidate for Parliament Speaker is very complicated in the current circumstances as there are a number of risks associated with this vote. According to him, the Political Bureau of the PPDA decided to urgently convoke the party’s National Political Council in the first half of June 6. The issue was developed in the talk show “Expertise hour” on Jurnal TV channel, IPN reports.
“This consultation will probably produce a decision that I hope will be strategically connected to our wish to keep the Political Bloc ACUM united, solidary and strategically tied to the future accomplishments,” stated Igor Munteanu. He added that all the existing implications are now being considered so as to go on.
Political commentator Victor Ciobanu said that even if this appears as a forced move, the PAS’s decision is reasonable in the current circumstances. “I think now the Socialists, as their precondition was accepted, are put in the situation to clearly say that they will support the de-oligarchization package and I think the faster they convene the Parliament sitting, the better it will be,” he noted. According to him, all kinds of opinions that the party betrays particular ideas and the voters will appear. He added he expects the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” to take an as correct decision and the Bloc ACUM will remain united.
Journalist Arcadie Gherasim said the Democratic Party will try to hamper the formation of a parliamentary majority for a particular period of time and, in particular conditions, the formation of an ACUM minority government. “The amplitude of such a reaction by the PDM could be coordinated with the agreements existing between the leader of the PDM Vladimir Plahotniuc and President Igor Dodon as it now counts more what post Igor Dodon will assume this time,” stated Arcadie Gherasim.
Communication expert Artur Gurău said he is almost sure that an agreement exists between the PDM and PSRM, but not all the aspects were fully negotiated. These discussions between the Socialists and the Bloc ACUM and the visit paid by Dmitry Kozak to Moldova are new unknowns in this equation of the PSRM/PDM government. “I think these two political forces are too consolidated to allow things to develop themselves. Even if there is an alternative government, not of the PSRM and PDM, for two-three months, this will be a kind of buffer for the local elections. The importance and stake of the local elections is too great and what happens to this Government can decisively influence the result of the local elections,” noted the expert.
On June 5, the National Political Council of the PAS decided it will vote for the Socialist Party’s nominee for Parliament Speaker by a 46 to 1 vote. The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” announced it decided to convoke its National Political Council for June 6 to discuss the issue.
