MP-elect of the bloc ACUM Igor Munteanu said the post of Prime Minister does not belong to the Democratic Party for this to offer it to someone and to intentionally create the false impression that the bloc isolates itself from the political process. The issue was developed in the talk show “In Depth” on Pro TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
Igor Munteanu described the calls to discussions made by the PDM and the possibility of offering the post of Prime Minister to the bloc ACUM as poisoned apples, noting this post does not belong to the Democrats for them to offer it. “Nothing belongs to the Democratic Party for this to offer something,” stated the MP-elect.
He noted a stereotype was created as if the bloc ACUM rejects everything, is irresponsible and isolated itself from the political process, which is not true. “We are principled and have principles and directions of action in Moldova’s Parliament and will not deviate from them. We are not interested in posts,” said Igor Munteanu.
According to him, the announced scenarios do nothing but increase the level of distrust in these offers that can be called poisoned apples. It is very hard to say how these scenarios end. The rumored scenario of holding snap elections simultaneously with the local elections is a bad solution for everyone as the voters are tired of the previous campaign that was very confusing.
As to the position of the bloc ACUM in Parliament, Igor Munteanu said they will most probably form two groups – of the Party “Action and Solidarity” and of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” – and the MPs elected on the list of the bloc on behalf of civil society will have to choose which of the two groups to join.
The executive council of the Democratic Party on March 14 issued one more invitation to a dialogue on the formation of a parliamentary majority to the electoral bloc ACUM, saying it is ready to concede the administration of the future Government, including the post of Prime Minister. ACUM declined the second invitation as well.
