Igor Grosu: This autumn’s elections are an essential stage on path of integration into EU

This autumn’s elections are an essential stage on the path of integration into the European Union, the chairman of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Igor Grosu stated in a press briefing in which he presented the party’s commitments for the next few years, IPN reports. “Each of us now has the duty to make sure that the change takes place in each village, in each town and the path to the free, civilized and prosperous world is definitive and no one will manage to reverse it,” said the politician.

Igor Grosu noted that the further building of a developed economy, with more highly-paying jobs and businesses at the local level, is the key priority. The PAS team will continue working together with the Government and the local administration so as to stimulate economic growth through financing programs for entrepreneurs, through intense debureaucratization and stopping of abuses and harassment on the part of particular functionaries. The party aims to encourage entrepreneurs who create jobs and have a correct relationship with the state.

The second priority is to make sure that the Moldovans feel safe in the village or the town in which they live. This means confidence that the state institutions will come to the citizens’ aid.

Investing further in road infrastructure is another priority. The PAS chairman said the roads of a high quality offer safety to travellers, stimulate trade and, respectively, economic development. “The people must enjoy European roads as swiftly as possible so as to travel faster and get home safely,” said Igor Grosu.

The PAS team further undertakes to implement big projects that will ensure the provision of the citizens with water and sewerage, the building of playgrounds, sidewalks, preschools, the infrastructure needed by the localities. They will continue supporting the families from Moldova’s villages and towns, including by increasing the childbirth allowance to 20,000 lei.

Igor Grosu noted it is crucial for the local elections of November 5 to be free and fair so that the voice of each citizen is heard.

In the current election campaign, the Party of Action and Solidarity has 702 candidates for mayor, 1,158 candidate for district councilor and 9,312 candidates for local councilor.
