The candidate for Prime Minister Igor Grosu, who was nominated by President Maia Sandu, filed the documents regarding his team and government program to Parliament. Among those who are proposed for the posts of minister are persons who were also included in the team by Natalia Gavriliţa – the first candidate nominated for premiership by President Sandu, IPN reports.
Vice president of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Natalia Gavrilița is proposed for minister of finance, while PAS vice president Vladimir Bolea – for minister of agriculture, regional development and environment
Expert in security and conflict settlement, ex-minister of defense Viorel Cibotaru, the former leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, is suggested for Deputy Prime Minster for Reintegration.
MP and PAS vice president Sergiu Litvinenco is proposed for minister of justice. Since June until November 2019, he headed the commission on appointments and immunities and was later a member of this commission. Before entering Parliament, he worked in the public administration system and for a number of projects financed by the World Bank, UNDP, UNICEF.
MP and PAS vice present Mihai Popșoi is proposed for minister of foreign affairs and European integration. He holds the title of doctor of political studies from the University of Milan and is a member of the Foreign Policy Association of Moldova.
Presidential adviser Ala Nemerenco is proposed for minister of health, labor and social protection. She held this post earlier. She worked for the WHO Country Office and was a consultant of the WHO and other international organizations in the Balkans and Central Asia, and personal adviser to the minister of health of Romania.
Presidential adviser Ana Revenco is nominated for minister of home affairs. She was the executive director of the International Center “La Strada” Moldova. In 2012-2015, she headed the Center for Combatting Trafficking in Persons of the Ministry of Home Affairs, while in 2013-2015, he organized the implementation of the action plan for liberalizing the visa regime with the EU on behalf of the General Police Inspectorate.
Secretary of the presidential administration Andrei Spînu is proposed for minister of the economy and infrastructure. In 2019, he held the post of secretary general of the Government, while in 2015-2016 he served as deputy minister for youth and sport. He is an ICT entrepreneur
Anatolie Nosatyi, military man who worked for over 30 years for the National Army and for international military organizations, is suggested for minister of defense. Until 2020, he headed the Operations Division of the General Staff of the National Army.
Among the members of the Government proposed by Igor Grosu is the current secretary of state at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research Anatolie Topală, who is proposed for minister. In 2015-2019, he managed the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment, while since 2013 until 2015 he headed the Quality Assurance Agency.
“By the program “Healthy Moldova” and the team with which we come, we undertake to make responsible decisions for managing the economic and pandemic crisis, to clear the state institutions of corrupt people and to organize snap elections,” Igor Grosu stated after he submitted the documents to Parliament.
On March 22, the Constitutional Court ruled that the presidential decree by which Igor Grosu was nominated for premiership is constitutional. In accordance with the law, the nominated candidate has 15 days since the decree takes effect to create the governmental team and formulate a government program and to ask for a vote of confidence from Parliament.
After the CC presented its decision, Igor Grosu said the overcoming of the health crisis and the cleaning of state institutions would be the priorities of his Government.
