Igor Grosu, who was nominated for Prime Minister, refused state guard that was to be provided to him following the signing of the presidential decree.
Contacted by IPN for details, spokeswoman for the State Guard and Protection Service Olga Baciu said that under the legislation, the Service provides protection and guard to all the candidates nominated for premiership by presidential decree. The legislation allows yet the nominated candidates to refuse state guard.
Earlier, candidate for Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița enjoyed state guard. The State Guard and Protection Service didn’t make the incurred costs public, invoking the state secret.
