Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, who is in Bucharest on an official visit, had a meeting with the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania’s Parliament Ludovic Orban. The official said they agreed to reanimate the relations at interparliamentary level in a number of areas and the meetings of the Moldovan MPs with the chairpersons of the analogous parliamentary commissions of the Chamber of Deputies are a first proof to this effect, IPN reports.
The officials conferred on the development of the bilateral dialogue and the importance of interparliamentary cooperation. Igor Grosu thanked Romania as an EU member state and Ludovic Orban in particular for the program of technical and financial assistance offered by the Romanian authorities to the Republic of Moldova.
“The relations of friendship between our states generate concrete benefits for the citizens and help us to further struggle for a better future. We agreed to reanimate the relations at interparliamentary level in a number of areas and the meetings of my colleagues with the chairpersons of the analogous parliamentary commissions of the Chamber of Deputies are a first relevant proof. I’m sure that during our mandate, the relations between the two fundamental institutions will reach the highest level of cooperation since the declaring of our Independence,” stated Igor Grosu, being quoted in a press release of the Parliament’s press service.
The President of the Chamber of Deputies Ludovic Orban reiterated the Romanian state’s readiness to support the Republic of Moldova at all levels.
