Igor Grosu: EU stands as key partner in the European integration process

The European Union stands as the key partner for Moldova in the process of European integration, a shared strategic objective and a model for building a democratic state, based on rule of law, which focuses on the development of a strong economy which ensures the well-being of all citizens. Igor Grosu, Parliament Speaker, made a statement to this effect during a meeting with Peter Michalko, the EU Ambassador to Moldova, who is concluding his diplomatic mission.

According to a Parliament press release, Igor Grosu thanked the EU ambassador for the support provided to Moldova during his four years of activity. "We are fully committed to the implementation of the Association Agreement and are determined to move forward in the area of structural reforms: building the rule of law, reforming justice and fighting corruption. These are the priorities of Moldovan authorities and we advocate for a continued increase of the EU's role in the modernization and development process of our country", said Igor Grosu.

During the meeting, the enhancement of the dialogue with the European Union concerning the Association Agenda was also discussed. Particular emphasis was placed on the allocation of €50 million of the macro-financial assistance package, for which nearly all conditions are met.
