The development of the Chinese-Moldovan relations in a stable manner was underlined today by China’s Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Yan Wenbin in a discussion with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, who congratulated the diplomat on his appointment, wishing him success in the fulfillment of his duties in Moldova, IPN reports.
The officials discussed the intensification of the Moldovan-Chinese cooperation in the commercial-economic, education, technology, renewable energy and other sectors. According to Ambassador Yan Wenbin, the cooperation in different areas until now produced results. The two legislative bodies maintained friendly relations. For his part, Igor Grosu welcomed the recent inauguration of the largest photovoltaic park in the Republic of Moldova, which was built with support from the Government of China, and assured that the state will continue to make effort to improve the investment climate in the country.
“We are interested in the projects to strengthen the country’s energy security. That’s why we will support any initiative that will contribute to building energy resilience and to the diversification of sources for supplying the Republic of Moldova with energy,” said Igor Grosu, being quoted in a press release.
The interlocutors also discussed the Winter Olympics held in Beijing, where Moldova is represented by five athletes. Even if Moldova cannot boast of traditions in winter sports, it was noted the performance of biathlete Alina Stremous, who ranked tenth in 7.5 km sprint.
