Acting president of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Igor Grosu said that the candidate for Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița will present her program and governmental team to Parliament on February 8. He avoided giving the names of the potential ministers, but said that it is a team of professionals, members and sympathizers of the PAS, IPN reports.
The politician noted that the party’s MPs will attend the Parliament sitting where the candidate for Prime Minister will present her government program, but will not vote for the Gavrilița Government.
“Missis Gavrilița will submit the documents concerning her program and governmental team to Parliament on Monday. According to procedures, the Standing Bureau is be convened and I anticipate the Bureau’s meeting will take place on Wednesday as the 15-day period during which the first attempt is to be made to vote in the Government expires on Thursday,” Igor Grosu stated in the program “Emphasis on Today” on TVR Moldova channel.
He said the names of the potential ministers will be made public by Natalia Gavrilița. He assured that the governmental team was created according to such criteria as professionalism, meritocracy and integrity.
“These are known persons from the PAS team, people whom you saw and let’s wait a little and will find out who they are from Missis Gavriliță. They are good, patriotic and well-intentioned persons,” stated Igor Grosu.
He noted that Parliament could fail to vote in the Government on the first attempt, but the tacit PSRM-Shor Party majority could be later formalized and this will field a candidate for premiership.
“We are ready for both of the scenarios. The scenario we want is snap elections at the end of May or the start of June. If the PSRM cheats, the new Cabinet will take up its duties,” said the politician.
Recently, the president of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon said the Socialist MPs will not vote for the Government led by Natalia Gavrilița and snap legislative elections could be held in June.
