The leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon wonders why the Liberal-Democratic and Communist MPs no longer want to support the no-confidence motion proposed by the Socialists. On May 25, the politician said that both the Lib-Dems and the Communists suggested amendments to the draft motion, but haven’t signed it yet, IPN reports.
Igor Dodon told the reporters that he does not understand why the Lib-Dems do not accept to put at least two signatures on the draft motion at a time when in each sitting of the legislature they ask that Prime Minister Pavel Filip should present a report. The draft motion was signed by 24 Socialists, but should be signed by at least 26 MPs for being registered. The Communist MPs proposed changes to the notion and said they will sign it if the Socialists support an initiative of the PCRM, but ultimately didn’t sign the motion.
Igor Dodon wondered if the Communist and Liberal-Democratic MPs were convinced by the country’s development partners to stop pressing the government. He gave his colleagues from the PLDM and PCRM time until May 27 to sign the motion. Otherwise, they will declare that the parliamentary opposition is represented only by the Socialists and will put forward a new initiative by which the members of the Cabinet will be obliged to render reports in Parliament.
