The president of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon said that Natalia Gavrilița, who was nominated for Prime Minister, is a professional. But when a Cabinet is voted in, not only the professionalism is taken into account as the Premier is also a politician. The Socialists haven’t yet decided if they will vote for this candidate or not, but they will definitely attend the sitting where Natalia Gavrilița will present her program. Even if the PSRM is in favor of snap parliamentary elections, the Socialists are those who will decide if these elections should take place in June 2020 or the ordinary elections should be held in 2023, IPN reports.

In his weekly online program, Igor Dodon said that Natalia Gavrilița is a professional and she named her division head at the Ministry of Economy when he headed this in 2007. The decision as to the vote for this candidate will be taken in the meeting of the PSRM’s National Council the next few days.

The politician noted that the Socialist MPs will not boycott the Parliament sitting. All the responsible MPs should come to the sitting, analyze the program and put questions. The PAS MPs would show disrespect for the own team member and for the people if they don’t come to the sitting.

Igor Dodon said there are now only two scenarios – snap parliamentary elections in June and ordinary parliamentary elections in 2023. “That’s why the variant of elections in autumn should be removed from the agenda. We should decide now. To be sincere, it depends now on the PSRM, which has the largest parliamentary group. We will decide if the elections should be held in June or in two years,” he stated.

According to him, the current Parliament should be driven away, but the snap elections would cost about 80 million lei and practically the same players would consequently have to come to terms.
