Igor Dodon: We will be able to export apples to Russia in two weeks

The leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon assures that the Russian authorities will lift the ban imposed on the import of Moldovan apples in two weeks. He made such a statement in the program “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.

The Socialist leader said he received such a guarantee from the Russian government during a visit made to Moscow together with the Socialist MPs. “The Russian authorities said they want to discuss only with us, the Socialists, but our authorities place obstacles in our path. They must support us because the export will be resumed and money will come into the budget,” he stated.

Igor Dodon noted that he agreed with Russian decision makers to create a special office that will issue documents to the Moldovans who go to work in Russia. “The Moldovan citizens need months to legalize their stay on Russia’s territory. In the period, they are hunted by the law enforcement bodies and expelled because they violate the regime of stay. This office will enable them to legalize the right to be in Russia,” he said.

Igor Dodon added that the PSRM is preparing seriously for the local elections. “We will concentrate our attention especially on the Chisinau City Hall. “Out of four heavyweights of our party, we are to select one who will run for the mayoralty of Chisinau. This list includes Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi, Ion Ceban, and Vlad Batrincea , but it could be extended,” he said.
