The chairman of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon said the party he heads is not financed from abroad and wasn’t financed by businessman Ilan Shor, as this asserted. He made such statements in the talk show “Interpol” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.

The leader of the PSRM invoked the results of the inspections carried out last year. “We were inspected by employees of the Tax Inspectorate and not only. There were thorough inspections that showed that our party is not financed from abroad. We work only based on the donations made by members and sympathizers, while Ilan Shor financially supports the Party of Communists. I was at his wedding party, but this does not mean that he could steal that billion. As regards the concerts with Russian starts that I staged in the election campaign, these sang gratis because they are my friends. Igor Dodon also said that he does not support financially Irina Vlah’s campaign. “Irina Vlah is not the candidate of the PSRM. We only support her. The costs she incurs in the election campaign are paid with money from her electoral fund. Gazmanov will be paid by Irina Vlah also with this money,” he stated.

In the same program, the leader of the PSRM criticized the Democratic MP Vladimir Plahotniuc’s initiative to stop broadcasting Russian TV channels on Moldova’s territory. “This is a violation of the right to free expression and of the people’s right to inform themselves from a number of sources. The people can by themselves choose what news bulletin to watch. Not the government should tell me what I should watch on TV and what I should not,” he said.
