President Igor Dodon requested to carry out a thorough analysis following the hundreds of messages coming from residents of the municipality of Chisinau, who are dissatisfied with the fact that they received higher heat bills for January. On February 18, President Dodon called a working meeting with decision makers of the heat and electricity supplier Termoelectrica, the Chisinau City Hall and the gas company Moldovagaz, IPN reports.
The President said that the weather last month was warm and the price of natural gas remained the same and it is not clear why the people have to pay more for heat. “I was assured that the heat bills for this February will be by 25-30% lower than last February and the previous month. I warned that if it does not happen so, the managers of Termoelectrica will be dismissed,” Igor Dodon posed on Facebook.
Earlier, SA Termoelectrica informed that the invoicing period in January 2020 was of 32-36 days, while the similar period in January 2019 was of 29 days. The average calculations for 31 calendar days show that the heat consumption for last month was actually by about 12% lower than in the same period last year.
