Following a meeting with US Ambassador Dereck J. Hogan, where the agenda of the strategic dialogue between the two countries has been discussed, President Igor Dodon announced that he was going on a working visit to the US, IPN reports.
According to a Presidency statement, during the dialogue with the US ambassador in Chisinau, the need to continue strengthening the bilateral cooperation relations in all areas of major interest has been expressed.
During his one-week visit to the US, President Igor Dodon will deliver a speech from the UN General Assembly rostrum. "Igor Dodon will talk about the problems and achievements of the Republic of Moldova, the peculiarities of internal and foreign policy, the prospects of Transnistrian conflict settlement and so forth."
According to the source, Igor Dodon will also have bilateral meetings with several leaders from abroad and representatives of the American leadership, with influential Jewish circles and businessmen.
"I deem this visit as one of the most important this year in terms of balanced foreign policy promotion," said Igor Dodon.
Last week, Prime Minister Maia Sandu paid a two-day visit to the US.
