The result of the presidential elections will influence a lot the outcome of the parliamentary elections and the biggest advantage of the snap parliamentary elections is the fact that the former Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc will have fewer people in the next Parliament, said President Igor Dodon, being quoted by IPN.

In a new edition of the program “President Responds” that was held at the Residence in Condrița on July 24, he said the snap parliamentary elections will represent purification and there will definitely be fewer “oligarchic cans” in the next Parliament. “The people got tired of these shows. That’s why I consider that snap parliamentary elections should be held after the presidential elections,” stated Igor Dodon

He noted he sees two possibilities of dissolving Parliament. If a Parliament sitting is not called and no decision is adopted until October 20, the legislature can be dissolved. The second scenarios is the dismissal of the Government by a no confidence motion,  or, as a result of a meeting of the government coalition, with the participation of the President, Prime Minister and Parliament Speaker, the Government will resign.

Igor Dodon said the firm commitment of four authentic parliamentary parties is needed. “I not accidentally addressed a message to Maia Sandu and Andrei Năstase for three-four times. Let’s sit together – the Socialists, the Democrats, the PAS and the PPPDA and try to agree an agenda,” he stated. According to him, the four parties can act together to reach snap elections without forming a coalition, but by pledging not to ally with Shor and Candu.
