The Socialist candidate Ion Ceban has the historical chance of winning the new mayoral elections in Chisinau, also because there is no unity among the representatives of the right, President Igor Dodon was quoted by IPN as saying in the program “Key issue” on NTV Moldova.

President Dodon considers the representative of the Socialists will reach the runoffs and has big chances of winning the elections. According to him, the main struggle between candidates for reaching the runoffs together with Ion Ceban is now witnessed. This year the representatives of the right have smaller chances of winning the mayoralty because now they do not have a common position as they had in the previous elections.

The President noted that the new local elections are a preparation for this autumn’s parliamentary elections. Even the small parties can secure seats in the next Parliament. “Those who will reach the runoffs could be considered winners even then,” he stated.
