Igor Dodon: Scheme was prepared with participation of Government and parliamentary majority

The scheme by which large amounts of money were stolen from the Moldovan banking system was prepared with the involvement of the Government and the parliamentary majority from the previous legislature, Socialist MP Igor Dodon said during the hearings held within the special sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.

“This scheme was thoroughly prepared with the participation of the Government, the National Bank and the parliamentary majority of the previous legislature. We reached such a conclusion because the legislation was amended namely with the aim of making the implementation of this scheme possible. At the beginning of 2014, the Government could not provide guarantees for loans and this was done through the Leanca Government, which assumed responsibility for this,” stated the Socialists’ leader.

“The information provided today shows that Vlad Filat is very deeply involved. The Prosecutor’s Office said that testimony against Filat was given by relatives, colleagues, etc. The presented evidence refers only to Filat and Shor and their relatives. What did the inspection bodies, the National Bank of Moldova do? They saw what was happening, but kept silent. They are accomplices. We were robbed. The Government’s guarantees will be transformed into state debt.”

The politician noted that everyone should be ‘swept away’ and early parliamentary elections should be held.
