MP Igor Dodon said he has never hidden his ideas and has always been open with his former colleagues from the Communist Party (PCRM). “They forgot about the plenary meeting of the Central Committee of this July, when I made similar statements about modernization and accused some of my colleagues of boycotting the local elections,” Igor Dodon has told Info-Prim Neo when asked to comment on the declaration made by the PCRM’s Central Committee. He said that he will make no other comments on this declaration because he already stated his position on his defection from the PCRM. Asked if a meeting was agreed with the leaders of the ruling alliance to discuss the election of the head of state, Igor Dodon said he expects this to happen by the end of this week. The PCRM’s press office Thursday issued a declaration by the party’s Central Committee, which says that Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi and Veronica Abramchuc are the traitors whom the Alliance for European Integration found to elect the head of state. The defection by the three is described as moral decay and confirmation that they lack uprightness and that they are corrupt. The declaration also says that none of the three expressed openly their positions in the weekly meetings of the parliamentary group or the plenary meetings of the Central Committee.
