The leader of the Party of Socialists, MP Igor Dodon stated that the Russian Federation is a strategic partner of the Republic of Moldova. Regrettably, neither the government program of the current executive nor the communications after the meeting with the deputy head of the Russian presidential administration Dmitry Kozak says something about this, IPN reports.
In a press briefing, Igor Dodon said the Moldovan-Russian agenda includes a series of subjects that need to be addressed and three of them require immediate attention, namely the social protection of the Moldovans in Russia, the export of Moldovan products to the Russian market and the supply of gas given that the contract for the supply of gas negotiated with the former government expires on October 1 this year.
The former President noted that the parliamentary opposition is ready to offer support to the government in what is related to the Moldovan-Russian relations, even without making this thing public, including in the negotiations on the new gas tariffs as this is in the interests of the citizens.
Referring to the discussions they had with Dmitry Kozak in the evening of August 11, Igor Dodon said they conferred on each of the subjects included in the agenda of the bilateral relations. This is not the only meeting held with the Russian official the past 30 days and more meetings with Dmitry Kozak can yet follow.
