Igor Dodon released from house arrest

Moldova’s ex-President Igor Dodon was released from house arrest. A decision to this effect was taken by judges of the Supreme Court of Justice on Friday, IPN reports.

By its decision, the Court obliged Igor Dodon not to leave the country during 60 days.

Supporters of the politician came together in front of the court and greeted Dodon with applause. He told the people that today’s decision is a first victory and the struggle only started.

Igor Dodon was charged with passive corruption, acceptance of financing for the political party from a criminal organization, treason and unjust enrichment. He considers the criminal case against him is political and was started by order of President Maia Sandu.
