Incumbent President Igor Dodon said the Party of Socialists (PSRM) is ready to support a Government proposed by President-elect Maia Sandu if this is ready to assume responsibility for the country’s and the people’s fate and if this is sure that it can manage the crisis better than the current Government, IPN reports.
“In Parliament, there is now no parliamentary majority, but such a majority can be formed in different formulas, depending on the groups that will ally. That’s why Missis President Maia Sandu enjoys now the possibility of forming any coalition that would govern the country or of inducing snap parliamentary elections. Everything now depends on her negotiation capacities,” Igor Dodon stated in the online program “President Responds”.
According to him, the Socialists do not stick to the government, especially now that there is no parliamentary majority. “But the country cannot be left ungoverned as it will be plunged into political and economic chaos,” noted Igor Dodon, who intends to return to the post of president of the PSRM.
He called on the President-elect to open negotiations with the parliamentary groups as soon as possible so as to form a majority in a suitable formula, to form a new Government or to cause snap parliamentary elections and to implement her electoral program.
