Igor Dodon: PSRM and PPPN will represent next government

The next government of the Republic of Moldova will be a center-left one, represented by the Party of Socialists (PSRM) and the Political Party “Our Party” (PPPN), the Socialists’ leader Igor Dodon said in the program “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.

Igor Dodon noted that the PSRM will not merge with the PPPN. “We are two separate parties. The PSRM is a party of the left, while the PPPN is a party of the center. We will cooperate only to ensure joint government,” he said.

He also said that the major goal of the PSRM and PPPN is to cause early elections by obtaining the resignation of the head of state. “If the ruling alliance is unable to choose a new head of state by two attempts after Timofti’s term in office expires, early elections will take place next August at the latest. We cannot yet wait for one more year for the rulers to steal what’s left. If they stole 6 billion lei from the National Bank during three months, can you imagine how much money they could yet steal during a year,” stated the leader of the PSRM.

Igor Dodon said he will not give up terminating the Association Agreement with the EU. “The signing of this accord was a mistake for Moldova. If we unable to end it, we will at least review some of its provisions so as to restore the good relations with Russia,” he stated.

According to the Socialists’ leader, the union with Romania is the main danger threatening Moldova. “The union with Romania is now discussed at ministerial level already. If this pace is kept, in several years Moldova will disappear as a state. The Socialists will struggle for our statehood. Joining the Eurasian Union is Moldova’s chance,” he said.
