Igor Dodon provides aid to Durlesti victims of heavy rain

The Communist Party’s candidate for mayor general of Chisinau municipality Igor Dodon offered first aid to the victims of the heavy rain in Durlesti. He talked to the victims and found out the problems confronting them. Five houses were flooded on Timisoara St in Durlesti on June 12. According to the persons affected, the water reached a level of 1.5 meters, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the candidate’s electoral staff. “We went out thought the window and saved the children and the essential things. Practically everything was flooded,” said the female owner of a house. Another woman said the rescuers took her children out of the house. Now these families live at their neighbors. The victims said representatives of the Chisinau City Hall came and examined the situation, but said they don’t know how to help them. The affected persons also said that it was for the first time that they faced such flows of water. “Regretfully, the old drainage systems cannot cope with the precipitation owing to the chaotic and unplanned construction of the capital city and its suburbs, without pluvial drainage channels and professional control on the part of the local authorities,” said Igor Dodon. “We all see how the Liberal administration works in the suburbs,” stated the candidate. He gave the affected families folding beds, covers, bedclothes and food products. “At least our children will have where to sleep,” said one of the women.
