For women who gave birth to or educated up to the age of eight five and more children, the retirement age will be 54. For persons who worked for at least ten full years in special conditions, the standard retirement age will decrease by five to nine years and six months, depending on the insurance period. The full insurance period for men will be 33, while for women - 30 years.
Another promulgate law is the law to repeal the so-called “billion law” by which “the previous government’s made the people responsible for repaying the billion stolen from the three banks,” as Igor Dodon stated. Under the bill, the Government, within three months of the coming into force of the law, will work out and propose the measures needed to solve the problem of indebtedness of Banca de Economii, Banca Socială and Unibank to the National Bank of Moldova.
There was also promulgated the law on the functioning of languages spoken on Moldova’s territory. The incumbent President said this law restores the status of Russian as a language of interethnic communication, as it was earlier, during over two decades. Under another adopted legislative initiative, the instructions of medicines will be issued by drugstores and medical institutions in the official language or in the Russian language.
The list of promulgated laws also includes the Party of Socialist’s proposal to amend and supplement the Code of Audiovisual Media Services. Currently, the Code of Audiovisual Media Services allows the providers and distributors of media services to broadcast news, feature, military and political radio and TV programs produced in the EU members states, the U.S. and Canada and in the states that ratified the European Convention on Transfrontier Television. The adopted amendments stipulate that the providers and distributors of media services have the right to transmit military radio and TV programs produced locally or bought from third countries that meet the provisions of the information security concept and strategy of the Republic of Moldova. Igor Dodon said the censorship at TV channels was annulled ad the news bulletins of TV channels of Russia and several other TV channels that were banned until now will soon become available.
The laws promulgated by the incumbent President were adopted by the votes of the MPs of the Party of Socialists and For Moldova Platform, which includes the MPs of the Shor Party, on December 16. The opposition, which was absent from the sitting, said the laws were adopted in secret, by violating the regulations, and are toxic for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
