The Party of Socialists’ candidate for President Igor Dodon presented the second part of his electoral program that refers to the socioeconomic system. Igor Dodon pleads for repealing all the laws that oblige the people to repay the money stolen from the banking system, for the return of the Moldovan products to the Russian market and for the protection of national producers. He is against increasing the retirement age and is for the indexation of pensions two times a year, IPN reports.
Igor Dodon suggestsd initiating trilateral negotiating between the Republic of Moldova, the European Union and the Russian Federation for ensuring the return of the Moldovan products to the Russian market because this market is the best for the national products. Furthermore, this enables to create new jobs.
The candidate considers the economic relations with the EU must be based on asymmetric trade, not on free trade. “During the two years of implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with the EU, the situation in the Republic of Moldova has worsened. Exports to the EU do not grow. On the contrary, imports from the EU into Moldova increase. In the first half of this year, we imported larger volumes of particular products than we exported, but we can make these products ourselves, especially those from the agri-food sector,” stated Igor Dodon.
He aims to protect the national products and to support the real sector of the economy by motivational fiscal policies, by creating optimal conditions for development and by reducing the number of inspections and to also bring things on the energy market in order and to check how the prices of electric power, gas and fuel are set.
In the social sphere, the candidate plans to make sure that by one school, kindergarten, medical unit and mayor’s office exist in each community. Igor Dodon opposes the introduction of counties by the administrative-territorial reform and will not allow liquidating mayor’s offices of communities with less than 5,000 inhabitants.
Igor Dodon noted he is against increasing the retirement age and considers that the pension must be indexed two times a year – on April 1 and on October 1 – and this should be higher than the minimum subsistence level. Also, the health policy must cover a larger number of services. The Baccalaureate exams should not be mandatory for enrolment at universities, while the teachers must have the status of public servant and their salaries must be higher than the average salary in the economy.
