Igor Dodon: Plahotniuc exerts pressure on judges and prosecutors

President Igor Dodon said that through the agency of MPs, the former leader of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc is trying to destabilize the situation in the country. He noted that the former Democratic heavyweight exerts pressure on judges and prosecutors so that these do not take decisions to his detriment, IPN reports.

According to Igor Dodon, Vlad Plahotniuc is trying to buy MPs so that these leave their parties and there is no stable parliamentary majority or another majority can be created. This way, he exerts pressure on judges and prosecutors, manipulating them.

“Undoubtedly, a very clear message should be given to judges and prosecutors. We should lift the immunity and jail four-five judges. You go to the Appeals Court to have foreign assets sequestrated and they said that this is not possible. A lawyer for Plahotniuc is exerting pressure, currently at the Appeals Court,” Igor Dodon stated in the program “President Responds”.

He noted that the prosecutors and judges are afraid and ask for guard for the reason that they are blackmailed into accepting money to defend Plahotniuc. It is hard for those who are honest to work in such conditions. “Dear judges and prosecutors, don’t be afraid as no one will harm you. Just obey the law. I will not become involved, but you should identify yourselves those three-four judges. You know who defends the interests of Plahotniuc and Shor,” stated President Dodon.
