The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) could soon propose lifting the immunity, including the parliamentary one, of particular persons if it accumulates the information needed for the purpose, related to the bank fraud, President Igor Dodon was quoted by IPN as saying after the meeting of the Supreme Security Council.
According to him, the PGO in its current make-up took steps to sequestrate asserts of persons who could have bene involved in the fraud. These are assets belonging to the commercial complex “Gemenii”, Prime TV channel and others. Also, a number of criminal cases started over the bank fraud are now pending.
As to the annexes to the Second Kroll Report that were recently disseminated by the press, President Dodon said neither the National Bank of Moldova nor the PGO could confirm that these are authentic. “The request was for the bodies that possessed or still possess this report, with all the annexes, to confirm or deny the disseminated information and, in parallel, to conduct investigations and see where these annexes appeared from,” he stated.
