All the types of Moldavan goods can be exported to the Russian Federation passing through Ukraine as of January 31 this year, President Igor Dodon said in a news conference given at the Chisinau International Airport on his return from Russia, where he paid a working visit, IPN reports.

President Dodon said the fact that Russia allowed the Moldovan goods to be transited via Ukraine after the Government of the Russian Federation banned this on December 29, 2018 is the most important result. The agreement was reached as result of the previous arrangements with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. As of January 1, 2019, for five positions of goods, including fruit, vegetables and cans, will be exported to Russia duty-free and this will enable the entrepreneurs to save considerable amounts of money.

Asked about the validity period of concessions, the President said these are valid until July 1. However, at the end of March the Russian Government will carry out an assessment so as not to prevent the re-export of Ukrainian products under Moldovan tradenames. Igor Dodon expressed his conviction that he will manage to persuade the Russian side to extend these concessions.

President Dodon said the first 12 KAMAZ trucks provided by the Russian Government to Moldova will arrive in the country next week already. These will be distributed to the largest towns and district centers of Moldova after the election campaign. Two of them are intended for the municipality of Chisinau.

A forum with the involvement of representatives of several tens of regions of Russia, which signed agreements with Moldovan districts, will be staged in March.

President Dodon was to land earlier at the airport in Chisinau, but the flight was cancelled owing to fog. He said the Russian authorities provided the Moldovan delegation with a plane for returning to Moldova. According to him, this enabled to save several tens of thousands of lei.
