After the MP of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists Igor Dodon announced his decision to vacate the seat ten days ago, Parliament on October 28 accepted his resignation, IPN reports.
The seat of MP that belongs to the Bloc of Communists and Socialists was declared vacant. According to the list of substitute candidates, the seat will be occupied by ex-Socialist MP Adrian Lebedinschi, who is a jurist by profession.
On October 18, Igor Dodon announced that he decided to step down as an MP as he considers he can be much more efficient in other positions and his role of opposition leader will be much more active outside Parliament, with a people’s agenda and with visits from home to hope. He noted that does not want to be tied to the parliamentary agenda and he also does not intend to hide behind parliamentary immunity. Igor Dodon said he accepted to manage a new organization, namely the Moldova-Russia Business Union, which was registered in Chisinau in June.
